My name is Jamise Studer. I am a classically trained chef who has been cooking since the age of four and have been in the food service industry for 39 years. After being hired to, and successfully opening a restaurant in 2024, I decided that if I could do that for someone else, why not do it for myself? So, in 2025 I ventured out on my own to start by opening a traveling food stand. I identified a void in my area to market seafood and determined that the most cost efficient method of mobile preparation would be frying. With that niche I added chicken since a national fast food chain was the only other place specializing in that in our town. Opening in June of last year, Urbana Fish ‘n Chicks was an immediate hit. We remained booked for events through the remainder of the year and traveled as far as 85 miles to profitably set up and serve our product.
